No. But a properly designed, high-quality screen is able to dramatically limit the penetration of cold air. This will make staying in the space very pleasant and significantly reduce energy consumption. But there are cases when the installation of a screen cannot solve the draft problem.
The air curtain belongs to the category of warm air heating units with strictly defined rules for its choice, location and installation. It is generally assumed that 85% (!) of the heat supplied by the screen remains in the protected space. According to our experience, in a large number of cases, the curtain itself is able to heat the space where it is installed. Many heating engineers do not know this, so they ignore this fact and design heating without respecting this source.
An air curtain creates a strong compact airflow, it can be thought of as a heavy curtain placed in a door or gate opening when the door/gate is open, which prevents, mostly cold, air from outside from entering the building and thus cooling it.
The air curtain is installed either next to the door opening or above it. The screen exhaust must always be directed out of the door/gate. The angle between the axis of the flow and the plane of the door is called the draft. It is ideal if the air curtain allows adjustment even after assembly depending on the actual conditions at the installation site and the users' requirement after first experience.
The choice depends on the size of the door/door opening. The larger the opening, the larger (more powerful) the air curtain must be. If there is too much draft in the door/door opening, the air speed exceeds the speed of 7 m/s or 25 km/h., the use of an air curtain will be ineffective and the door opening must be protected in another way (e.g. with a vestibule or a change of position).
An air curtain is a heating device designed to protect door openings from the ingress of cold air into the interior of the building.
A high-quality air curtain must be able to create a strong compact air stream, the speed of which decreases as slowly as possible with the distance from the exhaust. This property is called a blowout. A high-quality air curtain should be as quiet as possible so as not to disturb people near it with excessive noise.
